Legal AI Pricing in India (2026): What Harvey, CoCounsel, Lexis+ AI, Manupatra, SCC Online and vLex Cost in INR
As of 28 September 2026, only one of the seven legal AI products an Indian firm is most likely to be quoted for publishes a rupee price: Manupatra, whose research plans run from ₹14,250 to ₹55,460 a year plus GST. Harvey, CoCounsel, Lexis+ AI, SCC Online AI Pro and vLex's Vincent publish no Indian price at all; the figures in circulation for them are US numbers reported by third parties, which convert to roughly ₹79,000 to ₹28.7 lakh per lawyer per year.
This page puts every verifiable figure in one table, says where each one comes from, and marks the gaps as gaps. It is the pillar for our pricing series; the detailed breakdowns for Harvey and CoCounsel sit underneath it.

All USD figures converted at ₹95.78 per US dollar (Wise mid-market rate, 27 September 2026). Rupee figures move with the rate. "Published" means the vendor states the price itself; "reported" means a third party does.

Two things stand out. First, the only published rupee prices are for a research database whose AI is a small allowance, not an AI product. Second, the reported per-user figures for the AI-first products span a factor of about 36, from ₹79,000 to ₹28.7 lakh. That is not a price range. It is what an absence of published pricing looks like.
Which legal AI tools publish a price in India?
Only Manupatra publishes rupee prices, and those are for its research subscriptions, not a dedicated AI product. Every other vendor on this list sells AI through a demo, a trial or a sales call.
Manupatra's subscription page lists six annual plans, all "exclusive GST":

Each plan includes five AI summaries a month. Manupatra's broader AI toolkit, ManuWorks.ai (drafting, summaries, translation, document comparison), is sold on a demo basis with no published price, as are the Citation Verifier and Manu Reader it lists as 2026 releases.
What do Harvey and CoCounsel cost in India?
Neither publishes a price for India. The reported figures are American, and both carry terms that matter more than the per-seat number.
- Harvey sells by quote only. The most-repeated figure, US$1,200 per seat per month on a 20-seat, 12-month minimum, works out to about ₹2.76 crore a year at today's rate. The seat minimum is the real barrier for most Indian firms. The full breakdown, with every reported figure and its source, is in Harvey AI pricing in India.
- CoCounsel has a self-serve configurator for US firms of up to 10 attorneys and nothing equivalent for India. Its India page names Westlaw Edge UK as the research integration and no Indian case-law corpus. The next-generation CoCounsel Legal launched on 20 August 2026 is "available now in the United States", with Canada, the UK and Australia expected later. India is not named. We re-checked both on 28 September 2026. Neither vendor has announced a price or an India release since those posts went up.
Is Lexis+ AI sold in India, and at what price?
LexisNexis sells AI in India, but not under a published price, and the India product is not the same bundle the US figures describe. LexisNexis India's page for its AI research product says pricing "varies based on factors such as the size of your organisation, specific capabilities required, and the scope of content access", and offers a free trial.
LexisNexis launched Protégé in India on 11 April 2026, as "a flexible, standalone AI solution, with plans to be fully integrated with trusted LexisNexis content in the near future." Its India research product is branded Lexis Advance with Protégé, with Case Analysis India for citation checks.
The reported US$125–275 a month add-on figure is for Lexis+ AI on top of a US Lexis+ subscription. It is useful as a rough ceiling. It is not a quote for Lexis Advance with Protégé in India.
Does SCC Online charge extra for AI?
Not publicly known. SCC Online publishes no price for AI Pro, and does not say whether it is included in a Web Edition subscription. The AI Pro page describes cited answers grounded in SCC Online's database of "65+ lakh judgments, statutes and articles" and states that queries never train AI models. SCC Times reported a preview launch in New Delhi in February 2026.
The only SCC Online prices we could find published are bundles sold on the EBC webstore that combine the print SCC (Weekly) with a Web Edition subscription, for an earlier year. We have left them out: they are not AI prices and not current.
Does vLex's Vincent AI cover Indian law?
vLex holds Indian material, but Vincent's own coverage list does not name India. vLex India says it has over 500,000 documents from more than 70 courts, including the Supreme Court and the High Courts. The Vincent AI page lists 17 jurisdictions, from Brazil to the United States; India is not among them.
Reported prices (US$69 to US$399 per user per month) are for US and international plans. Ask vLex in writing whether Vincent answers against Indian material before you compare its price with anything else on this page.
How should an Indian firm compare these prices?
Compare the total for the whole contract, in rupees, for your actual headcount — not the per-seat number. Four adjustments change the answer:
- Seat minimum × term. A US$1,200 seat is ₹13.79 lakh a year. Twenty of them for twelve months is ₹2.76 crore. The floor, not the unit price, decides whether a firm of 30 lawyers can buy at all.
- Base subscription underneath. CoCounsel Core and Lexis+ AI are reported as add-ons on top of a research subscription. Price both layers.
- Currency. Every non-Indian vendor on this list prices in dollars. The rupee's monthly average went from ₹90.73 to the dollar in January 2026 to ₹95.20 in September (X-Rates), a move of about 5%. On a ₹3 crore contract that is roughly ₹15 lakh, and it is your risk unless the contract says otherwise.
- GST. Manupatra's prices exclude 18% GST. Imported software services also attract GST, so get quotes compared on the same tax basis.
A useful check: at the most-repeated Harvey figure, one seat costs roughly three-quarters of a fresher associate's annual retainer at a large Indian firm (₹15–20 lakh on current market commentary). A year of Manupatra's Core plan costs less than one week of that retainer. They are not the same product, but the gap shows why the per-seat question gets answered differently in Delhi than in New York.
What should you ask every vendor before you buy?
Ask for the same seven things in writing from every vendor, including us.
- The total annual price in INR, with GST shown separately, for your headcount.
- The seat minimum, and whether it applies for the whole term or only at signing.
- The contract term, auto-renewal notice period and any cap on renewal increases.
- Which Indian corpus the AI answers from: Supreme Court, which High Courts, tribunals, statutes, and how current it is.
- Whether answers carry citations you can open and check, and what the tool does when it cannot find an authority.
- Where client data is processed and stored, whether it trains any model, and how the contract handles the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- Implementation, training and integration fees, listed separately from licences.
