Lawgix Terms and Conditions

2. Pilot Terms

Lawgix is made available to you on the following basis during the pilot phase:

• Beta / Experimental Software. Lawgix is under active development. Features, interfaces, and functionality may change, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time without prior notice.
• Free of Charge. Access during the initial pilot phase is provided at no cost. Following the conclusion of the pilot period, Users may be offered the option to transition to a paid plan. Continued use of Lawgix after the pilot period requires acceptance of the then-current commercial terms.
• Scope. The pilot covers Chat with Docs and Citations features only. Other features shown or described are illustrative and may not be available.
• Not Legal Advice. Outputs generated by Lawgix are for research assistance only. Nothing produced by the platform constitutes legal advice, and no lawyer-client relationship is formed with Bitvyas.
• User Verification Required. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating all outputs before relying on them professionally or sharing them with clients or courts.
• Pilot Duration & Termination. This pilot is provided for a limited duration of four (4) weeks from the date of account activation, unless extended by Bitvyas in writing. Either party may terminate these Terms and Conditions at any time with 7 days' written notice to contact@bitvyas.com. Upon termination or expiry of the pilot period, your access will be suspended unless you opt for a paid plan.

3. Privacy & Data Handling

• Your Ownership. You retain full ownership of all documents and data you upload to Lawgix. Bitvyas does not claim any rights over your content.
• Output Ownership. You own all AI-generated outputs produced by Lawgix in response to your queries. Bitvyas claims no rights over these outputs.
• Confidentiality. Bitvyas shall treat all documents, data, and content uploaded by you as strictly confidential. We shall not disclose, share, or make available your uploaded content to any third party, except to the extent necessary to provide the Lawgix service through our infrastructure partners, or as required by applicable law or a valid court order. This obligation survives termination of these Terms and Conditions.
• How We Process Your Documents. Your documents are processed using industry-standard encrypted cloud infrastructure to enable parsing, search, and citation features. They are not used for any purpose beyond powering your Lawgix session, and are not used to train AI models or shared with other users. Details of our infrastructure partners are available on request at contact@bitvyas.com.
• No Guarantee of Absolute Security. While we apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards across all storage systems, no system is entirely secure. Use Lawgix only with documents you are comfortable transmitting to cloud-based third-party services.
• Data Deletion. You may request deletion of your uploaded documents and all derived data at any time by contacting contact@bitvyas.com. We will action such requests within 30 days. Upon expiry or termination of the pilot, all your uploaded documents and derived data will be automatically deleted within 30 days unless you request earlier deletion.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

Lawgix is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Bitvyas expressly disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy. AI-generated outputs, legal citations, case references, and summaries may contain errors, hallucinations, outdated information, or omissions.
• Citation Reliability. Legal citations generated by Lawgix may be inaccurate, incomplete, or refer to non-existent or incorrectly attributed sources. All citations must be independently verified before use.
• Fitness for Purpose. Lawgix is a research assistance tool and is not warranted to be fit for any specific professional, litigation, advisory, or transactional purpose.
• No Professional Relationship. Use of Lawgix does not create any lawyer-client, fiduciary, or advisory relationship between the User and Bitvyas.
• Availability. Bitvyas does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free availability of the platform.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bitvyas Pvt Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall have no liability whatsoever — in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise — arising out of or in connection with your use of Lawgix.

Without limiting the generality of the above, Bitvyas shall not be liable for:

• Errors or omissions in AI-generated output, legal citations, or document analysis.
• Any loss suffered by you or your clients arising from reliance on Lawgix outputs.
• Decisions made, advice given, or filings submitted based on Lawgix results.
• Loss of data, platform downtime, service interruptions, or security incidents.
• Consequential, indirect, special, incidental, or punitive damages of any nature.

Liability Cap. If any court of competent jurisdiction holds Bitvyas liable despite the foregoing, Bitvyas's total aggregate liability shall not exceed INR 1 (Rupee One). You expressly accept that this cap is a reasonable allocation of risk given that access is provided free of charge.

User Risk. You acknowledge that you use Lawgix entirely at your own risk and that you have sufficient professional expertise to independently evaluate and verify any AI-generated output.

6. IT Act Positioning & Safe Harbour

Intermediary Status. Bitvyas operates Lawgix as an intermediary within the meaning of Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (the IT Act).

Safe Harbour (Section 79, IT Act 2000). Bitvyas claims the benefit of the safe harbour protections available to intermediaries under Section 79 of the IT Act. Bitvyas is not liable for any third-party content uploaded, stored, or transmitted through Lawgix, subject to compliance with applicable law.

User Responsibility. You represent and warrant that all documents and content you upload to Lawgix are lawfully obtained, that you have the right to upload and process them, and that doing so does not violate any law, court order, bar council obligation, client confidentiality duty, or third-party right. You shall indemnify Bitvyas against any claim arising from your failure to comply with this representation.

7. Feedback

We actively seek your feedback to improve Lawgix. By providing feedback, suggestions, ideas, or comments (collectively “Feedback”), you grant Bitvyas a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that Feedback into Lawgix or any other product, without any obligation of compensation, attribution, or confidentiality to you. Feedback does not include your uploaded documents or client data.

8. General

• Governing Law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Delhi.
• Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire understanding between the parties with respect to your use of Lawgix during the pilot and supersedes all prior representations.
• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
• Amendments. Bitvyas may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Lawgix after notice of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
